Ice in Texas and Luke is almost here.

Well it's very cold here in Texas.  The high today isn't expected much past 20 (Burrr!).  There is still ice on the roads from our ice/snowstorm early Tuesday morning.  As many of you know when it ices in Texas everything pretty much shuts down.  We just don't know what to do with the ice.  Matthew's school was closed Tuesday and today and will likely be closed tomorrow which is fine with me.  I really had no desire to get up early, get him ready, and drive him to school.  I think staying home in our pj's by the fire is a better plan and that's pretty much what we have been doing.  Mark has been home as well.  We have had the fire going since Tuesday afternoon nonstop.  Mark is a pro at making and keeping the fire going.  That is the advantange of having a wood burning fireplace.  They put off a lot of heat.

I do have a doctor's appt. tomorrow morning.  I am now doing the weekly appointments, but I'm not sure if it will be worth it to go.  I tried to venture out today and lets just say I didn't make it very far at all before I turned around and came back home.  The roads are still not in the best shape.  Even the well traveled roads.  It isn't expected to get above freezing until Friday afternoon and the high is only going to be 34 so whatever is on the roads just isn't melting.  I am 38 weeks and will be 39 weeks on Sunday so it's getting close.  I don't feel like he is coming soon though.  I think it will be very close to the due date if not after.  I am not feeling any contractions that I am aware of.  This week would not be a good week for Luke to arrive due to the weather.  I'm pretty sure Luke is a smart boy and knows better not to come in this weather.  He is waiting for a 60 degree day :)

I have managed to get a lot of things done around the house this week which has been nice.  I have cleaned out the junk drawer, the silverware drawers, etc...  Can we say "nesting." :)  Also I am officially done with my medical transcription course after a long 2 years and 3 months.  I am proud of myself for sticking with it.  I managed a 94 GPA which I am happy about.  With M-TEC a 94 is considered a very high B so there grading system has a much higher standard.  I could have done better but I will take my 94 and run.

I will keep you updated!

Warm, cozy fire
